Introduction
The
bank plays a major role in the lives of many people
– savings accounts, debit cards, credit cards,
mutual funds, etc. It is important to learn about the
bank and its services and to know the value of saving
money. In this activity, your Dreamer will speak with
a banker at a local branch and discuss the services
offered, careers in banking, and if possible, set up
a savings account.
Purpose

• Discuss the link between school and jobs
• Demonstrate how to use good manners
Time
This
activity will take about an hour, but will vary depending
on how much time the banker has available to talk with
your Dreamer.

Paper to take notes, if desired
Directions
•
Visit a local bank and talk with a banker regarding
the services the bank offers and careers in banking.
• If your Dreamer is able to, and wants to, have
him or her set up a personal savings account.
